Anouk, Frederik & Elise {37 weeks}

Hoe gaat het daar met jullie?
Ik heb vandaag al wat beter nieuws, opa mag morgen naar huis! Oef! Hij had een heel erg zware maagontsteking. Hij krijgt medicatie en zou zich snel terug beter moeten voelen. Wat een opluchting 🙂

Vanmorgen ben ik langs geweest bij Fragile voor het terugbrengen van de 5 kleedjes en het ophalen van de 5 laatste.
Wat een vriendelijk team toch! Ik heb voor jullie dan ook een nieuwe reeks foto’s van de Fragile reeks. Deze keer ontmoeten jullie Anouk, Frederik en hun dochtertje Elise. Het geslacht van hun nieuwe kindje hebben ze nog geheim gehouden, ik ben benieuwd! Anouk kan al niet meer wachten tot de kleine ukkepuk er is en ik wacht ook mee vol nieuwsgierigheid. Het was de eerste vrouw die zo ver gevorderd was in haar zwangerschap (Hilde was 36 weken toen ik haar ontmoet heb in Mechelen). Alhoewel ze al 37 weken was, ging ze nog vlot mee op shoot en was ze ook superlief (niet evident met zo’n hitte die dag!).

FRAGILE


Een tijdje geleden contacteerde ik Fragile (www.fragile.be) met de vraag of ze graag zouden samenwerken rond een mode-project. Alhoewel ik samen met Mieke & Jeroen een shoot bezig was rond zwangerschappen, was ik ook wel benieuwd naar het effect van een shoot die meer gericht was naar mode. Raar maar waar, Fragile zag het helemaal zitten dus op een maandagmiddag ging ik met een klein hartje maar vol nieuwsgierigheid naar het atelier van Fragile. De ontmoeting was hartelijk en ik kreeg een zicht op hun werking. De kledij wordt door heel wat bekende vlamingen uitgeleend (oa Evi Hanssen waar ik 2 jaar geleden nog stage deed). Dus het was toch wel eens fijn om zo’n proces van iets dichterbij te zien. Wat ’n prachtig gebouw hebben ze daar trouwens! Om jaloers van te worden…

Ik kreeg 5 kleedjes mee. De beelden in deze blog zijn het resultaat van de eerste 5 shoots. Ondertussen heb ik 5 nieuwe kleedjes gaan ophalen en ben ik nog een datum aan het plannen voor de volgende shoot. Daarna volgen er nog eens 5. Mijn oproep naar zwangere vrouwen gebeurde via forums & kennissen. Ik heb dus niet met fotomodels maar wel met alledaagse vrouwen samen gewerkt. Dat vond ik er nu net zo leuk aan. Ik verzorgde haar & make-up en dit is het resultaat…

Time for UPDATES! :-)

I apologize for not posting this week.
I’ve been busy (again). I know, my excuses are lame 😉

Because I didn’t gave you much reading lately, here is a HUGE update, just like I promised.

Monday I went to Antwerp with Jan. He took a day off so we could go shopping together (sweet huh?) He doesn’t really love shopping much but I still find it very sweet. We bought A LOT 😉 and I went to Fragile, the pregnancy clothing shop I told you about. I made an appointment with Vanessa, a very nice woman who told me more about Fragile. She did help me to pick out the very first clothes I’ll be using for my new pregnancy series. I’m still looking for pregnant woman to participate, so if you are pregnant or you know someone who’s pregnant, please leave a comment or contact me right away at info(at)melissamilis.com. We’ll be making a series from week 25 untill the last week pregnancy. Every week will be a picture with another girl/woman. So I will be very busy the next few weeks. It’s nice to expend my portfolio. I think I have so much more to learn but I’m so ready to learn more. I’m very nervous about the shoots. I hope that’s one thing I’ll learn from this: getting more and more faith and believe in myself. I hope.

So this project will take lots of my free time.

On saturday I’ll be having my first shoot for a communion. I’ll be taking pictures with a little boy @ Doel (I got to know this place a little when I was a model for Yasmin, a few days ago). I’m excited to do the very first shoot 🙂

Back to monday. Like I said: we bought A LOT.
Because I didn’t find the time to post a look of the day on tuesday, here’s one for today.

New shoes from Tommy Hilfiger (around 45-50 euros I think)


I finally found this perfect green nail polish. I’m really unhappy for not looking better at the sticker ‘matte’. This is just a matte nail polish! Ugly as hell (think about paint that dried on your fingertops) so I did 2 coats and a final transparent coat to finish off.

I bought a lot more, just like Jan did. I’ve been convincing him to do some guestblogging out here but I don’t think he’s really sure what to write about. So maybe you can help him out. Would you like to read a monthly blogpost from him? What would you like to read from him? 🙂

sunday Love : Week 21


Sunday (hmm it’s past midnight so technically we are Monday ;)).
Time for the pregnancy series. This week I tried to focus a little bit on the father because it’s also about him this time. Since we heard the news about the pregnancy, he’s just more happy than I can imagine. So happy for them.

I’m back.


OMG, I didn’t check my blogger account for more than 5 days now. It’s crazy. I guess I’ll have to read for hours.
I’m sorry for not posting and reading. I’ve been so busy (and I still am).

Here are some things that happened in my life (more details this weekend) :

– I’ve been a model for a day. Yasmin Broos, a good friend of mine asked me to be her model for a fashion shoot. We worked with vintage clothing I bought for my shop. A little sneaky preview for you at the top of this blog. I like this picture a lot 🙂 You’ve seen this clothes already (*sorry for that) but when she finishes her assignment, I’ll put the other pictures (with new clothes) online.

– I got my first real big ‘fight’ with Jan since we moved, I slept on the couch. Ugh. * never again?

– We had our last housewarming party at the weekend. We’re glad it’s over 😉 getting drunk for 5 weeks and having to clean up the house the next day has been fun but it’s good now 😉

– I have my first little shoot for a boy’s communion (is this the right way to say ‘communie’ in english?) maybe one day I’ll be a professional photographer (wow! let’s hope *fingers crossed)

– Some other good new from my photography world: Fragile ( a dutch clothing line for pregnant woman) got me some clothes to do a pregnancy series. Will be awesome, still in search for some pregnant girls/women, who wants to be photographed (you can mail me if you want). I’m totally excited. I’ll pick up the clothes this monday!

– my dad finally got himself a computer * haay daddy, welcome to the www. I’ll be making a website for our business soon 😉 *promise.

– bought some really nice dresses at kapaza from:http://redheaded-woman.blogspot.com – she’s so sweet, she delivered the dresses herself and got some free things with it. She’s like sweet! Will buy from her again!

– I really have to go know. Still working at the shop today but I really wanted to give you a little update on my life.

Weekend is coming so probably I’ll give you a big update soon.
